Sept 1 is the first day of school.
When did we start to celebrate this day as Teachers' Day?
It was in 1985.
Kids from poor families couldn't go to school.
Confucius was the first person to open a school in China.
Wow! That’s great!
Many countries have a day for teachers, but the dates of the Teachers' Day are all different.
One Day Off 休息一天
In India, Teachers' Day is on September 5.
On this day, students take their teachers' places.
As for the teachers, they have the day off.
A Game Day 过节打电玩
Can you guess what they did last year to celebrate the holiday?
Teachers played computer games with their students.
Cool ways to greet your teachers:
1. Send an email to your teacher.
2. Make a card or some other little gifts by yourself. You can put some flowers on the teacher’s table. 康乃馨就是不错的选择哦! 送老师一包润喉糖也能让她/他小小地感动一下;
3. When you see your teachers in the morning, say “Happy Teachers’ Day” to them.
4. Write some greetings on the blackboard, such as, “We wish you a great Teachers’ Day!”

IT was terribly cold and nearly dark on the last evening of the old year, and the snow was falling fast. In the cold and the darkness, a poor little girl, with bare head and naked feet, roamed through the streets. It is true she had on a pair of slippers when she left home, but they were not of much use. They were very large, so large, indeed, that they had belonged to her mother, and the poor little creature had lost them in running across the street to avoid two carriages that were rolling along at a terrible rate. One of the slippers she could not find, and a boy seized upon the other and ran away with it, saying that he could use it as a cradle, when he had children of his own. So the little girl went on with her little naked feet, which were quite red and blue with the cold. In an old apron she carried a number of matches, and had a bundle of them in her hands. No one had bought anything of her the whole day, nor had any one given here even a penny. Shivering with cold and hunger, she crept along; poor little child, she looked the picture of misery. The snowflakes fell on her long, fair hair, which hung in curls on her shoulders, but she regarded them not.

Long ago and far away, there lived an Emperor. This Emperor was very vain and could think about nothing but his clothes. He had wardrobes and cupboards full of clothes. They filled his spare bedrooms and upstairs corridors of the palace.
The Emperor spent hours every morning getting dressed. He had to choose his outfit, preferable a new one, and the shoes and wig to go with it. Mid-morning, he invariably changed into something more formal for his short meetings with his counsellors and advisors. He would change again for lunch, and then again for a rest in the afternoon. He just had to change for dinner and them again for the evening!
But the Emperor is a wiser man now, and spends a lot more time with his advisors and far less with his tailors.
