  肖申克的救赎英文观后感1

Shawshank Redemption is a film co-operated by white people and black people. It told a story about the life in the prison.

A man called Andy Dufresne, was sent into the prison, Shawshank, for he murderer his wife and her lover in bed. However, he was innocent as he said. The new days in the prison were hard to live. It’s violent, heartless and cruel. A month later, Andy began to make friends with other prisoners. One of them called Red, who could get anything what he wanted. Andy bought a mallet from him and started his plan to escape. During this time, he did many things: expanding the library, caving stones, making tainted money for the prison governor, etc. It took him 20 years to tunnel secretly and he successfully escaped from the prison. Before that, Andy had told his best friend Red that his dream---Zihuatanejo, a warm place without memory. After escaping, Andy lived a free life in another identity and made the prison governor arrested. Several years later, Red was approved to leave. He had lived inside for 40 years. He was institutionized. Sometimes he thought of getting back again as he didn’t belong the world, but he didn’t, for the promise to Andy. Finally, in Zihuyatanejo, they met.

It is a good film. The cruel prison life terrified me and the friendship moved me. The story goes to a happy ending---redemption.

  肖申克的救赎英文观后感2

Based on the Stephen King (non-horror) novella “Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption”, this is a simple story of hope made remarkable by the interaction between the two lead characters. Both Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman do a fine job in terms of making their roles genuine and appealing, and also in the way they work so well together. The production values throughout are outstanding, but this is not a “fancy” film. Rather, it sticks to the story it is telling without resorting to flashy tricks to grab the audience’s attention. Although there is violence, some of it extreme, it is necessary to show the kind of place the prison is and is certainly not gratuitous. The main theme is hope, not despair, and the violence serves only as a backdrop to that message. Unashamedly a feelgood movie, by the end one is wishing only that it would continue for a few more moments.

  肖申克的救赎英文观后感 篇3

God, or god in a wider sense, and human virtue, justice, are not external demands on human beings, are not letters on paper, are not banners for various interests. On the contrary, they arise from the inner needs of human beings, the pursuit of eternal values, and the inspection and discovery of the constantly changing objective world. And only then will God, or religion and faith, guide you through your own salvation and your own breakthrough. Ive been reading buddhist altar sutra, six ancestors huineng founded to "sex" sees the Chinese zen Buddhism, the root is also mastered chan is no longer a way, a kind of theory, a kind of discipline, is no longer the outward things, but of life exists in the deep hearts core, which reflects the rationality of religious nature. Unlike eastern Buddhas who seek ethereality and transcendence, Western Gods may be more fixated on original sin and redemption, but both are products of the human mind.

Andy with their wisdom and perseverance, finally completed the miracle of the escape, and let the warden get the deserved punishment. After he got out of prison, why did he leave instead of following the usual Hollywood logic and trying to prove his innocence?

Because God exists within. Sin and non-sin, at the level of the soul, there is no need to prove but to constantly examine oneself! When asked again if he had been reinvented before being paroled, Rhett said frankly, "Reinvented? I dont quite understand the meaning of this word. I used to repent every day, not because I was here, or because you thought I should repent. I tried to tell the young man who had sinned in the past what was right and wrong, but he could not find it. Only the old man was left with white hair. The Shawshank Redemption pointed out the way to salvation. God walks with the human soul at all times!

In the name of religion, doctrine, law and even justice, many people in modern society, like The warden NORTON, have lost their basic honesty and character as a human being in the name of personal and group self-interest, in the name of exculpation, rhetoric and sophistry. When a man is accustomed to acting and without introspection, he has fallen into the hell of eternal damnation, let alone redemption!

  肖申克的救赎英文观后感 篇4

After watching the whole movie, what impressed me most was Andys efforts to expand the library in the prison and his final escape. Andy, a man who works in a bank, is naturally full of books and books, and has a wealth of knowledge. He was proficient in all aspects of politics and economics, and gave me the impression that he was a mathematical genius. As long as it was related to economics, nothing seemed to faze him. Because of this, he got the position of the warden, in order to launder money, he naturally became a celebrity in the prison.

Once when he was transferred to the library, he told his fellow inmates that he wanted money to expand the library, which they all found impossible. So he wrote a letter to the government every week, day after day, his letters were only sent out, but did not return, a year later, still so, but he did not give up, still keep writing, another year, his efforts have a small result, he began to write two letters a week. I couldnt believe his amazing persistence. 19 years in prison is too much for him, he wants to get out of this place, he escaped from the tunnel he dug for 19 years, he went through the sewer, the stench is more than most people can stand and its a long distance...

Andys endurance is hard to imagine. Hes been digging tunnels for 19 years and writing letters for three. This perseverance really let me admire, I should be like him in the study of hard work, to reach the goal of perseverance.

  肖申克的救赎英文观后感 篇5

"The Shawshank Redemption" is a rare excellent inspirational film. The reason I personally kept this film is because of its profound theme. It gives a person a kind of invisible power, it let me know that people should have the most precious things in life. And cherish the chance that you still have it. Because we humans have always been like this: only lost, really realize its value, only then desperately to get back, and then do not cherish. Hope, freedom and friendship are our most basic and minimum feelings and needs. If we do not cherish them, then do we ask others to cherish and maintain them?

This film breaks through the limitation of genre films in the escape film, and gives a rare human touch and warm feeling of similar works. Tim. Robbins plays a banker wrongly accused of killing his wife and sentenced to 20 years in prison. He sets a plan to escape from prison, but keeps a straight face, instead using his tax expertise to make friends with the prison staff and Morgan, the boss of the prisoners. Freeman became friends and fundamentally changed prison culture.

Life was like a box of chocolates, you never know what youre gonna get. When a feather floats slowly, life turns into a beautiful waltz, because no matter what you get, chocolate is always delicious. Only at the moment of the wedding of Figaro, all the prisoners were shocked by the sound as if it were from another world -- a breath of freedom from the world. Busy working or busy working? The Shawshank Redemption makes life a cruel choice. Shawshank redemption is something to be recalled over and over again in our simple lives. Believe in yourself, do not give up hope, do not give up efforts, patiently waiting for the glory of life belongs to their own, this is the Shawshank redemption.

  肖申克的救赎英文观后感 篇6

I read it again and again." The Shawshank Redemption", a lot of feelings.

In the film Andy Du Frei was wrongfully convicted in court, Xiao Shenke prison. Andy every hour and moment not longing for freedom and hope, faith that he spent 29 years of time. When he escaped, hope and freedom of the distillation. " I guess it comes down to a simple choice: get busy living or get busy dying." this is Andy impresses me saying," Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies." it tells us that important.

  肖申克的救赎英文观后感 篇7

Mr. Shawshank is a transliteration of the English word Shawshank, which some also translate as a sharkfort. Like its name, Shawshank is a "man-eating" prison. America is the most religious country in the western world, and religion has the most extensive influence in social life. Christianity occupies a dominant position in American society and culture, and the establishment of the hero redemption theme is not unrelated to The Christian culture. Shawshank ate not only the body, but also the hope, and the whole redemption is the double redemption. Of course, double redemption is not only physical and spiritual, but also self-salvation and salvation for others. Andys self-redemption is first and foremost embodied in his eventual escape from Shawshank prison. We see Andys confession and reflection. Its spiritual redemption.

Andy spent 19 years chiseling the path to freedom, saving not only himself, but also the hearts of other prisoners in prison, from which they began to believe that anything is possible. This confirms the redeeming words of Christ: "God loves the world and will save it." The film tells the story of Great Britain and inspires the audience to strive for freedom and hope. However, it should also be noted that the film also reflects the strength and spirit of the American people through the shaping of the hero image of Andy and the narration of the heroic achievements. It spreads the mainstream values and social culture of the American society and is a paeans to the American egocentrism. This heroic narrative and the cultural response, can not be said to be a coincidence, but the film and culture conspired.

Andy said, "There are things in this world that arent made of stone, that you cant reach inside, that you cant touch, that really belong to you." This is hope. This enabled him to maintain a calm state of mind, and in the process of pursuing freedom, he did not complain about anything and everything, did not become manic and restless, but used a rational mind to freely balance between gains and losses. It was his dogged determination to turn despair into hope that enabled him to achieve what others considered unthinkable -- to crawl through 19 years of painstaking hammering through narrow tunnels, to swim through sewers as long as five football fields, to embrace the sky of freedom on thundering nights.

  肖申克的救赎英文观后感 篇8

The film mainly tells the story of banker Andy, who was drunk and wanted to shoot his wife and her lover because of his wifes extramarital affair, but he didnt do it. Coincidentally, someone shot his wife and her lover that night. He was charged with murder and sentenced to life imprisonment, which meant that he would spend the rest of his life in Shawshank prison.

He was sentenced to life in prison for murder in 1920XX and was paroled several times without success. Hes now the authority in Shawshank, and he can get almost anything you want if you can afford it. Every time a new prisoner arrived, people would bet on who would cry the first night. Red thought the frail Andy would cry, but Andys silence cost him two packs of cigarettes.

For a long time Andy barely touched anyone. A month later, the first thing Andy asked Red to do for him was a stone hammer. He wanted to carve something to pass the time, and he said he tried to escape the routine inspection of the prison authorities. Then Andy gets another picture of Rita. A large poster of Hayworth was plastered on the cell wall.

Once, Andy and some other prisoners out to work, he overheard the prison officer talking about taxes. Andy said he had a way to get the prison officers to legally cut out the large tax in exchange for three bottles of beer for each of the inmates he worked with. Over a beer, Red guessed Andy was just using his free time to enjoy a brief period of freedom.

On a ward round, the warden took Andys Bible, but did not open it and handed it back to him, and told him that "the way to salvation, is in it", but the warden did not expect that the "way to salvation" is really in it. Then he was sent to work as a librarian in prison. He wrote a letter every week to keep the library up to date. He fought for the expansion of the library, and six years later, he got his wish. After that, he began to help the dignified warden to launder money. And handle other documents required for other prison officers.

  肖申克的救赎英文观后感 篇9

"The Shawshank Redemption", the 1994 film, after more than ten years but always shining endless charm. Miss the films last blue sea, calm and vast, like Andys heart. The black and oppressive pictures in the film finally melt into the boundless sea, giving people a clear feeling. The dream and hope of the heart become the perfect reality written in a smile after the experience of frustration and pain. The film is a near stubborn insistence on hope and freedom, the unyielding belief that can stand up to time. Looking at the film, you will find that there are many things in the film that are worth thinking and learning.

In the novel in telling the story the protagonist Andy, because found his wife having an affair with her golf coach, so in a drunken state bought a gun...... He has been in after waking up in the local court, when he was arrested, he did not know whether he is guilty, the court, the court had to run the house, in order to ignite his career lights, this Andy as victims in the Shawshank prison. In prison there is no caged Andy desire for freedom, he in the long boring days, and did not give up the hope of life, but to regain the geological interest, he has to take in the next few decades in prison, did not defeat him, leaving only the windowsill filled by him carefully carved stone.

But I can still feel the glory of life in this story. That is Andy, Andy is unique in prison. His unique life is accompanied by a nameless light. The author defines him as hope. There were two things that made me feel the hope of life. Once Andy locked herself in the room with the prison broadcast music, for people in prison, their music is only left to enjoy the spirit, simple but meaningful; there is one in a spring morning, after several people finished the roof, wind blowing, bathed in the sun, drinking beer, such things will not happen in Shawshank, but Andy used his wisdom to do. How moved I was to see this, Andy was using his action to bring a hope to his friends, a kind of upward trend. It can be said that the two time behavior is a cry of the soul, although weak, but he is tenacious, Andy of Shawshank, the life is not.

Maybe Shawshank can give us more. Have you ever thought that in reality, when we are facing pressure, trying and challenging, is it no longer brave to give up and escape and find indifference and tranquility as an excuse? Like the book in Shawshank spent half a century Brooks finally got his long-awaited free, it can not adapt to the outside world and fall into deep fear, in prison, he has been convinced of the identity of the elderly, library management, and in this society, what he is not even a library card cant do it, he has been accustomed to prison life, and imprisoned to yield, finally, loneliness, loss and a future for long years of despair destroy him, he is only in death to obtain relief.

  肖申克的救赎英文观后感 篇10

The Shawshank Redemption mainly tells the story of a series of things happened in the prison of Andy and Red, and how Andy saved himself and the people in the prison step by step. The most touching part of this film is Andys insistence and yearning for freedom and expectation. No matter under what circumstances, he never gave up his faith in expectation.

Andys pursuit of freedom and expectation is the most admirable. For him, even a moment of spiritual freedom is precious. For this reason, he lets the inmates drink the ice beer that is impossible to drink; He insisted on carving a stone, even in prison did not abandon their own interest; In order to relive the perfection of music, he violated the prison rules and was imprisoned alone for two weeks. Writing a letter every two weeks for six years to build the library; In order to escape, 19 years with a small hammer to cut out a tunnel. None of these reflects his pursuit of freedom. Andy is also a very smart man, he knows how to use all resources to achieve the purpose of self, he used his wisdom to change everything in the prison, at the same time, it is also a lot of people get the spiritual salvation.

Red is another important character in the film, and the film tells everything about Andy from his perspective. If it hadnt been for Andy, maybe Rhett would have gone the same way. However, Andy not only saved himself, but also saved Reed and many people in prison. And the existence of Red is one of the important media that Andy finally escapes from prison. The examples of Rhett and Boo also remind us of the horror of institutionalization. Once institutionalized, a person cant live without the system.

The main point of the film is to tell us at any time, any place do not give up expectations, as long as the self adhere to, one day will be able to keep the clouds open and see the moon. As Andy step by step with his own actions to save the people, but also to save himself, finally let himself live in a free world.

Watching this film, we learned that no matter what time, no matter where, we should not give up their expectations, only to stick to it, one day will be successful.

Abstract: This film Shawshank Redemption describes a man called Andy Dufresne was sent to the prison for he murdered his wife but in fact he was innocent. Then he started fighting against with the wicked prison life. Though he suffered many unfair treatments and ordeals, he never gives up himself. Due to his intelligence and perseverance, he spend 20 years successfully escape from the prison as a redemption. He teaches me that never lose hope.

  Keywords: hope; redemption; freedom; dream

The story took place in 1940. A man who is a banker called Andy Dufresne, was sent into the Shawshank prison, for he murderer his wife and her lover in bed. However, he was innocent as he said. The new days in the prison were hard to live. It’s violent, heartless and cruel. Nevertheless, A month later, Andy began to make friends with other prisoners. And one of them called Red, who could get anything what he wanted. Andy bought a mallet from him and started his plan to escape. During this time, he did many things: expanding the library, caving stones, helping the corrupt warden to get money or bribe, etc. Then a young prisoner’s coming break his quiet life in jail. But the warden killed the young prisoner the only man that knew Andy was innocent. Then he knew the prison he could not stay any more. It took him 20 years to tunnel secretly and he successfully escaped from the prison. When he got free, Andy sent the evident which could prove the warden corruption, briber and murdering to the policy agency. Before that, Andy had told his best friend Red that his dream---Zihuatanejo, a warm place without memory. After escaping, Andy lived a free life in another identity and made the prison governor arrested. Several years later, Red was approved to leave. for the promise to Andy. Finally, in Zihuyatanejo, they met.

The cruel prison life terrified me and the friendship moved me. The story goes to a happy ending---redemption. This film impressed me a lot. A sentence was said in the film: ’Some birds aren't meant to be caged, but most birds will choose to stand it.’

In this film, as we can see, the Shawshank Prison, which enjails lots of people. They have been in the prison form many years ,so they won’t go abroad. Because they won’t and also they can’t. They lived here for years without hope, and they lived just in the small prison, where nobody knows what is their dream and what’s their hope. As I remember, a old man Brooks was released after he had been in the jail for 50 years. But he found that the world became completely different from the world he imagined. For example, he seldom see cars before. He felt very strange and helpless to the outside world He can hardly adapt to the new developed world. He would rather stay in the prison. So unfortunately he chose to commit suicide.

However, on the contrary, Andy said a converse sentence:’ Some birds aren't meant to be caged, that's all. Their feathers are just too bright…’ He long for the freedom and strive for it! What I remember very clearly is someone said that “These walls are kind of funny things like that. First, you hate them, then you get used to them. Enough time passed, get so you depend on them. That is institutionalizing.” But Andy hadn’t been affected. He insisted on his faith of freedom. He dared to pursue his deserved freedom! That’s the first point I appreciate.

What’s more, another thing I think is friendship. Of course, Andy’s perseverance and endeavor is the main reason that he succeed in escaping. But it can’t be denying that friendship is also a important reason. Without the friends’ help in the prison, especially red’s, He can’t break the prison, too. Even in the jail which is the most evil place that Andy could make it a significance place. He had transformed a storage room smelling of turpentine into the best prison library in New England. Then the prisoners read the books and got knowledge from it. Andy also helped them to pass the high school equivalency. The glitters of him lighted others’ life. That helps him built many sincere friendships in the prison. He just too bright that didn’t belong to the prison .Then he escape and gained the freedom.

Furthermore, the patience, courage and strong willpower are the keys to escape. 20 years, not a short ordeal time, but he endured. He made his plan day by day, week by week and year by year. He never gives up. he took nearly twenty years to dip a tunnel with a little rock hammer which Red said it would take a man 600 years to tunnel under the wall with one of these to fight for his free .And he did it finally. Please imagine, crossing the tunnel he dup, he still should crawled through five hundred yards of shit-smelling foulness. That is the length of five football fields.

Then is the last but not least, I think. He has the bright brain ,the never fading persistent, and the most important thing----hope. Just as Andy said to Red: Hope is a good thing, may be the best of things. In this film, Andy show us that how good thing the hope is. Yes , hope is a good thing. Whatever it is, it can’t lock the hope. We all have dream. We all have hope. We all have it and please never give up, like Andy.

This film, Shawshank Redemption, teaches me a lot. It deserves to be one of the most overwhelming films in the Hollywood.

【篇三】《肖恩克的救赎》英语读后感

Everyone is the god of his own. If you have succumbed to yourself, then who can be your savior all through the world? ---Form The Shawshank Redemption

The story begins with the trial of a young banker called Andy, who victimized by circumstantial evidence and be put into the Shawshank prison. Ellis and many other prisoners had been in the prison for so many years that they had accustomed to this kind of life. Even they did not want to go out. It’s not only because they can’t, but also that they lived here for years without hope. You see, they lived just in the small prison living a boring life, it’s a gray world where nobody knows what their dream was, what their hope was.

However, as the old man said: Some birds aren't meant to be caged, but most birds will choose to stand it. Though they tried too many times, they never finished it, so they gave up. Nonetheless, Andy tried. He has the smart brain, the never fading persistent, as well as the most important

thing----hope. With a small hammer to dig through the tunnel to drainage pipe, and then climb over the drainage pipe outside to the river, Andy succeed in escaping the constraint

The scene impressed me most is when Andy got out of jail, he extended his arms in front of him in the heavy rain as if he were welcoming the fresh air and the freedom. At that moment, I saw the confidence win the darkness, bright light dazzles the eyes in the dark blue sky. Under the light, I could feel my recreant heart being shivering as his voice said: “Remember, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things and no good thing ever dies!”

It’s obvious that hope is a good thing. Whatever difficulty it is, we can’t lose the hope. Hope is enduring. Why we study? Because of the hope. We don’t hope us to be the man who nobody knows, so we go ahead for the dream. That it is , hope is worthy to be kept on the way to realize our dreams.

  英文肖申克的救赎观后感 篇1

  英文肖申克的救赎观后感 篇2

  英文肖申克的救赎观后感 篇3

In fact, I have seen the old film "Shawshanks redemption" a long time ago. I have brushed it again these days. From the time of shooting to now, the old film after more than ten years is still full of charm. It mainly tells the story of Andys "self salvation" in order to see the light again and pursue freedom. The film conveys a strong desire for freedom and a firm belief in hope. This movie really has a lot to learn.

Shawshank is not a name, but a prison. As the name implies, it is a place where prisoners are imprisoned and people are transformed. Here, the criminals report whatever they do, and finally let them become the dead bodies of the lost souls. Hope, freedom and dignity are all dead here. As Rhett put it, "when you first enter prison, you hate the walls around you; slowly, you get used to living in them; eventually you find yourself forced to live on them." In this movie, prison has been given a deeper meaning.

Lao Bu, a 70 year old man who has spent half a century in prison. Here he can earn a little respect from other prisoners with his education. One day, when he learned that he had been released, his first reaction was fear. Just as the caged birds have lost the ability to fly after being locked for too long, Lao Bu has lost the ability to survive in the society, so he is inevitably eliminated by the society. In fact, Lao Bu tried to integrate into the society, but the distance of 50 years became an insurmountable obstacle. At last, Lao Bu committed suicide in a dark house.

Lao Bus tragedy made our hearts ache. In the movie, Rhett thinks that Lao Bus tragedy is due to institutionalization, and that he, even the whole prison, is falling victim to institutionalization. So in reality, some students with poor psychological quality are performing the same tragedy. Some students stay in school for too long. After entering the society, like Lao Bu, they are not recognized by the society because of their lack of survival ability. After experiencing setbacks, I was overwhelmed and ended my young life.

Andy was a young and promising banker, but he was wrongly killed his wife, but the murderer was not found, was sentenced to two life imprisonment. In Shawshanks high wall, Andy not only suffered from strict management system, but also received the physical torture of "three sisters". In such a case, everyone will lose his mind, but Andy is the exception.

Andy never complains about the unfairness of life, but quietly tries to grasp his own destiny. Calm, brave, indomitable, never give up to fight with wisdom, which is the difference between Andy and what we lack in the face of difficulties and setbacks. In the face of difficulties, we are always too impetuous, eager to complain rather than to think; always too timid, eager to escape rather than to face. Thats what were going to learn from Andy in the movie.

When everyone thought Andy was going to be crushed, he found his freedom after climbing 500 yards of stinking pipes on a stormy night. In 20 years, a stone hammer combined with Andys unyielding belief and desire for freedom finally dug a road that Rhett thought would take 600 years to dig. In fact, Andy is always free, his heart is not bound by Shawshanks strength, and his desire for freedom and his belief in escaping has never wavered. Because the system can only regulate a persons behavior, but not imprison peoples thoughts.
