首先，我觉得这本书很好看，虽然是简写，但是细节的描写还是很多的，其次，故事简短，但很有趣。
这本书的主要内容是，一个乞丐和王子出生在同一天，然后在王宫中碰见，由此便换了衣服，阴差阳错，身份不料也被互换，王子穿的乞丐的衣服到处被排挤，嫌弃，而穿着王子，衣服的乞丐，却很享福，在王宫中被伺候着，结果当上了国王。当国王的乞丐很尽职尽责，办了许多帮助人的事，而被百姓爱戴，最后王子和乞丐在王宫中相遇后变成了好朋友。
这本书，我最喜欢乞丐汤姆，因为他当上了国王后不但没有骄傲，反而办了对国家有意义的事。汤姆在办答案是讲究公平、公正、公开，不像有些没良心的国王直接判死刑，汤姆很善良，也很正直，在办案时特意自己聪明的脑子解决了这个案件。
这本书也告诉我了一个人生的道理，做事不要爱慕虚荣，不要像约翰那样。做事要努力，不能半途而废，要像王子和乞丐那样。虽然都有自己的梦想，但经过自己的不懈努力，最终都能成功。
